At Miner's Inc., we take pride in supporting our communities, and Super One is honored to be a sponsor and major supporter of the annual Thanksgiving Dinner held at the DECC in Duluth, MN. This morning, our produce team delivered 1,800 pounds of potatoes to the dedicated volunteers preparing this cherished regional event.
While 1,800 pounds of potatoes is impressive, it's more than just a number—it represents the dedication of one of our exceptional long-standing local vendor partners: Al Jackson Family Farm in Grand Rapids, MN.
For 25 years, Al and his family have been essential contributors to the Super One family of stores. This year, they generously assisted with the donation of the 1,800 pounds of russet potatoes to ensure a well-rounded Thanksgiving meal for everyone attending. Al Jackson Family Farm grows potatoes specifically for Miner's Inc., planting approximately 100 acres of russet potatoes annually, with every harvest of that 100 acres dedicated to Super One stores. You'll find Jackson Family Farm's locally grown potatoes in our stores from November through May.
In the early days, Al personally delivered his potatoes to Duluth and Range stores, often making up to three trips a day in a small truck! Today, with the help of our partners at Russ Davis Wholesale, the potatoes are efficiently picked up and distributed, but Al's commitment and care remain at the core of our partnership.
This Thanksgiving season, we extend our gratitude to Al Jackson Family Farm for their generosity, hard work, and unwavering partnership. Thank you, Al and family, for your dedication to helping serve our communities. Here's to a Thanksgiving filled with gratitude, community, and, of course, great food!
